You can’t change the world, but you can change how you see it.

Find Your Peace Through Meditation
“You can’t get rid of the button pusher, you need to get rid of the button.”
– Yogi Amrit Desi
Over time through the practice of meditation, this button dissolves. You’ll rewire your brain and respond with new habits rather than react with old ones. You’ll become more patient and compassionate, which leads to peace. When you’re peaceful, the healing process begins both mentally and physically. How you react with others and your quality of life starts to improve.
You may have heard the quote. “You can’t change the world, but you can change how you see it.” Meditation can change the landscape of how you see the world around you.
Saying you can’t is just stepping your foot in the wrong direction. Say you can, and you’ll find yourself automatically turning around into the right direction.
Be impeccable with your word, even in thought. It’s so easy to complain in our minds and out loud. When doing so we’re creating negative affirmations. These affirmations create the world you live in. Meditation teaches us to be aware of thoughts rather than caught up in them.
Be mindful of words such as, “ I can’t meditate because I can’t sit still.” Set a small goal to sit for a short period of time and work yourself up to longer periods. “ I can’t meditate because I can’t empty my mind and stop thoughts.” You’re not supposed to empty your mind or stop thoughts.
Meditation provides several benefits. It reduces anxiety and lowers the heart rate. Meditation also reduces stress, heals the body, and is a preventive tool to protect our bodies from stress and sickness. It relaxes muscles and relieves tension in the body. We learn how to just be with ourselves and dissolve the button. We’ll respond to the button pusher with new habits, rather than react with old ones.
Say you can and you will. Set small goals. Don’t expect anything; meditate without any expectations. Set your intention to just sit and focus on breath, that’s all. Take a few minutes and practice the simple meditation that accompanies this article. There’s no time like the present…. PEACE
