“The difference between a full tuck top and a front-only tuck top is that the latter can transform a work or dressy outfit into a casual, weekend-ready look. You can tuck in tops, sweaters, and shirts to add casualness to your look.“

Refresh Your Look!
While we’ve been lying on our couches, embracing that pandemic-induced 24/7 sweatpants life, designers are taking an optimistic approach to fashion’s future. This year’s wardrobe refresh is a blend of nostalgic looks and elevated basics designed to lift us out of our comfy rut. As we enter a new season, what better time to refresh your wardrobe? With the fall season upon us, I’m officially ready to make some welcome wardrobe updates. Cor, Jourdan, and I have been out shopping for the perfect items for the Secretly Chic Boutique to help you refresh your wardrobe so you can look your absolute best! So be on the lookout for lots of bright and fun colors, new brands, and great logo wear!
Color
One of the easiest (and my personal favorite) ways to reinvigorate my wardrobe for a new season is by adding a fresh touch of color to my ensembles. I’m always excitedly looking out for what hues dominate the fashion shows and keep a close eye on Pantone’s trend forecasts. Luckily, this fall/winter’s color trends do not disappoint. Pantone’s fall/winter colors have been dubbed ‘energizing’ and ‘uplifting’ and appear brighter and less restrained than last fall’s. While I’ll certainly still be wearing plenty of reliable black, fall/winter has a number of unexpected hues that are getting me excited for the season ahead. The color trends range from bright colors like illuminating pink, jewel-tone teal, and bright yellow to neutral hues like beige and gray. The must-have color of the season will be green in the bright and lush “lawn” variant.
Think Kelly Green!
Sheer
Sheer garments make for a perfect layering piece. A sheer blouse is sexy yet classy and the perfect way to spice up a date night or a dinner out with friends. Sheer items also allow you to show a little skin while still being covered for those colder months.
Faux Leather
Spanning well beyond the moto jacket, the faux leather trend is all about integrating leather into all wardrobe categories – pants, tops, and jackets. Leather continues to be a hot trend for fall and going into winter 2023. The new leather looks are sophisticated and feminine, even work-appropriate. You can get the look without breaking the bank or harming animals when you choose vegan leather.
Blazer
A good blazer is a timeless piece to invest in. They instantly elevate any look and balance the body perfectly. Pair your blazer with a dress and sneakers for an interesting and balanced brunch look. I also love them to elevate your casual graphic tee and jeans look to the next level.
Jeans
As far as jean fashion trends go, it seems that “everything goes .” Cropped bootcut/flare jeans, bell bottoms, and the good old slim bootcut jeans are back. These styles are ideal for those who want a more sexy and feminine cut. Not ready to give up skinny jeans completely? Neither am I! To wear them going forward, try an oversized sweater or sheer top. Fashion tip: front-only tuck. A tucked-in piece can turn a boring top and bottom combination into a whole new outfit. The difference between a full tuck top and a front-only tuck top is that the latter can transform a work or dressy outfit into a casual, weekend-ready look. You can tuck in tops, sweaters, and shirts to add casualness to your look.
Closet Makeover
Flip the hangers of each item you wear in the opposite direction when you put them back in the closet. This way, you can easily see what you haven’t worn lately and remind yourself to give your often-forgotten clothes a new chance. I am sure everyone has a part of the wardrobe that we somehow neglect; this little trick will help you remember them.
Don’t classify clothes as just dressy or just casual. Wear heels with jeans or make a smart dress more casual with sneakers. This is your wardrobe, so you don’t have to wait for a special occasion to wear your special pieces of clothes.
Don’t be afraid to experiment! You can do whatever you want with your wardrobe.
