Introducing…

Taylor Siclari, the Newest Personal Trainer at FI

Taylor Siclari’s journey to becoming a NASM-certified Personal Trainer has been shaped by a couple of detours, but primarily by determination and a deep-rooted desire to help others. That has been a constant motivator, doggedly pursued.

“Fitness, from a young age, has always been a part of my life,” he says, “and the weight room is like a home away from home. Playing football, I tore my ACL in my senior year of high school and needed to implement a recovery plan. That’s when I really locked into the gym, and it really took over and became a seven-days-a-week discipline.

In The Beginning

Early on, I worked as an EMT. I’d always wanted to be a firefighter, and I saw my time as an EMT as a path to achieving that goal. But I veered a little off track from my fitness/EMT journey. Needing to make a living, I took a good union job as an elevator mechanic working in the city 6 days a week. When covid hit, I got laid off. In October of ’22, I was (ironically!) in a collision with a fire truck, which prompted a realization that I wanted to return to my original passion: making fitness training my life’s work. The injuries and rehabs I’ve been through exposed me to many different recovery aspects and disciplines, such as physical therapy, chiropractic, acupuncture, all these different areas of recovery. These experiences and exposures had a cumulative impact.”

Destiny?

Taylor has always been aware of Fitness Incentive. “I’ve always known about it!” he says. “I was a member here when I was younger and have always been aware of its reputation. Fitness Incentive has always been a very highly regarded gym—the facility and, of course, the people. Ownership, staff, members, the superior clientele; the all-around standards are all reflected in and by these qualities of excellence.”

The Theme Emerges

As Taylor speaks, the unifying theme of his life acquires greater focus and clarity. “I’ve always wanted to help people,” he says. “It has been my life-long passion; it’s why I was an EMT and had ambitions to be a firefighter. Everyone is different,” he continues. “Everyone needs a specific kind of assistance and a customized approach. With fitness training, it’s essential to get to know the person. I love speaking to my clients, ironing out their goals and aspirations, learning what they’ve been through, and using my years of experience and training to create their program and fitness journey. My approach is never a one-size-fits-all kind of thing; it all depends on the individual and what works for them.”

Blank Slate

Taylor finds a particular aspect of what he does especially satisfying. “I love working with those approaching fitness training with a blank canvas, someone who doesn’t necessarily have a lot of workout experience. I love the challenge: a project of creating a program for someone from the ground up, starting with foundational work and building from there. But in every case,” he declares, “my clients will get my absolute best! Top care. I check in with my clients daily. I like touching base during the week to see how they’re doing, learn if they have any questions, and just keep the communication channels open. My goal is to ensure that they are progressing to their satisfaction. I want to make sure that they’re happy with the direction we are moving in. I sure am—I’m thrilled to be here at Fitness Incentive, doing what I love!”
