Eyebrows have long been an integral part of the beauty industry, and like all elements of fashion and beauty what is “in” today may be out tomorrow. In the 70’s it was pencil thin brows, the 80’s bushy Brook Shield brows – So what’s the brow style now???? A nice classic, well shaped full brow! And, if you are lucky enough to have PERFECT brows, then you’re in, but let’s face it, who’s that lucky???
Some factors that lead to loss of brow hair are age, Alopecia, Chemotherapy, scars, over tweezing, waxing and threading.
So what can you do about it? Well, let me lay out your options!
There are so many cosmetic eyebrow fillers on the market today from pencils, powders, and gels to longer lasting marker types. If you have the time, knack and dexterity for putting your brows on every day then these are good options. However, if you don’t want the time-consuming task or just can’t seem to create the perfect shape, then you have other more semi-permanent options which allow you to sweat, swim and sleep without your brows coming off!
Microblading
which is also known as brow embroidery or 3-D brows is the latest, Semi-permanent procedure gaining popularity due to its unbelievably natural look. The microfine tool coupled with the shallow placement of pigment allows us to create fine, crisp hair strokes that mimic natural hair. This procedure lasts 12- 18 months, so if for whatever reason you want to return to your natural brows, it will fade over time.
Permanent Makeup
has been around for decades, and some people fear the word “Permanent.” So let’s set the record straight; It is NOT Permanent and will also fade over time. This procedure is done with a digital pen-like instrument which implants the pigment deeper into the skin than microblading, so it lasts 2-4 years and appears softer, like a powdered on brow. Individual results vary from person to person regarding how long it lasts. Some factors that contribute to pigment fade are sun exposure, use of certain topicals and how your skin absorbs pigment. Future visits are required to maintain and refresh your brows.
Permanent Cosmetics
also known as Dermal pigmentation or Micropigmentation is not just for Eyebrows, it is also beneficial for women following breast surgery. Areola and 3-D nipple pigmentation following Mastectomy or Breast Augmentation, Eyeliner, Lip lining, shading and scar revision from trauma or surgery. If you’re now considering having any of these procedures done, you can put things in motion by booking an appointment for a complimentary consultation at Incentives Organic Spa & Salon.
