“I am humbled and grateful to have been a part of the “birth” of this program, and I cannot express how happy I am to see it continue to thrive and grow! I will be forever grateful to all the members who also helped it get to where it is today!”

Dina’s Dream Comes True
At the time of this writing, it is June 2024…come with me on a little time travel trip!
It’s the early 2000s, and I have been teaching multiple classes (including, but not limited to, yoga, Spin, FitKids, boot camp, Corefusion, Sculpt, etc.) and Personal Training at Fitness Incentive. I soon became the Manager of the Yoga program, and as it continued to grow, we decided to add Pilates Mat classes. Over the coming years, we created the Mind/Body Studio you know today at Fitness Incentive. Click here for an article from 2006 (interview). In this interview from the Autumn 2006 newsletter, I mentioned how, along with the goal of creating a dedicated reformer studio at Fitness Incentive, I also had a goal of one day creating and offering Pilates Teacher Training courses at Fitness Incentive. (More on this later)
Early 2005:
I had been really, really wanting to create a Pilates Reformer program at Fitness Incentive; we ordered Allegro Pilates Reformers, and they arrived in September 2005. I gave Pilates Reformer Private, Partner, and small group sessions for almost two years, sharing the Yoga room space. I would reserve the room for reformer sessions, with the Reformers being set up and broken down for each class/session and stored on a moveable cart. At this point, the ultimate goal was to eventually get a dedicated space – just for the reformers.
November 2007:
Grand Opening of the dedicated Reformer Studio at Fitness Incentive! We did it! After some rearranging and renovation, we moved the reformers into their new dedicated space. Click here for an article from 2007. Over the years, we added Towers of Power to our Allegros along with various props, which allowed for endless repertoire possibilities and helped grow the program.
Summer 2024:
Studio Reformer has recently been renovated and is going strong! The Reformer studio at Fitness Incentive has always been a warm, intimate space offering personalized attention for each session, whether private, partner, or small group. Our team of dedicated, highly trained Pilates instructors offers various reformer and tower classes seven days a week. Fitness Incentive has just launched a separate Studio Reformer and membership!
I am forever thankful to Cor and Kenny for believing in me, creating the reformer studio at Fitness Incentive, and trusting me to lead the way! I am humbled and grateful to have been a part of the “birth” of this program, and I cannot express how happy I am to see it continue to thrive and grow! I will be forever grateful to all the members who also helped it get to where it is today!
The Next Step in the Dream
Balanced by Dina Teacher Training – coming to FI – Autumn 2024!
As mentioned earlier in this article, one of my goals was to create a Teacher Training Program. In 2021, I was finally in a position where I could take time to focus and create my long-awaited Teacher Training School! Balanced by Dina, Inc. offers training in Mat Pilates, Reformer, Tower, Chair, and Ladder Barrel, as well as teacher training specialty workshops and master classes.
Fitness Incentive will host two Balanced by Dina Teacher trainings this Fall: Core Mat Level 1 and Reformer/Tower Level 1. We will be posting details soon, so keep a lookout!
I am proud that most of Fitness Incentive’s reformer instructors have been trained by Balanced by Dina, Inc. They also do continuing education to keep the classes fresh, exciting and effective. Just like each instructor has their own personality, they each have their own unique teaching styles, one of the many reasons that make Studio Reformer so unique and special.
If you have yet to have the pleasure of seeing the Reformer Studio, taking a class, or meeting the amazing reformer trainers, please make it a point to check it out and inquire about trials and memberships. You won’t regret it! Stay Long and Strong!
