This summer, Fitness Incentive had the pleasure of hosting the Hofstra Women’s Lacrosse Team for some PowerX training. It was an excellent fit as many of the exercises in the class incorporate the sport-specific type of training a division one lacrosse player would need. In this challenging workout, participants work fast controlled movements that raise their heart rate, challenge their balance, and strengthen their entire body. This class uses the battle ropes, TRX, and the VIPR. The team did an outstanding job and really enjoyed the 40-minute cardio/strength training. They also got to try out a piece of equipment that they had never used before, the TRX rip trainer, which replicates the exact movements needed to throw a lacrosse ball.
Erin, a senior attacker player, said, “I loved the class because the movements translated directly to the movements we use in the game. I felt like the class helped both my cardio and my strength. It was awesome!!”
Grace, a senior attack player, said, “I enjoyed the class with Kelly so much! It was such an up-tempo class that challenged me in so many ways. It was nice to learn new exercises alongside my teammates!”
Amanda Guerra, another senior attack, said, “I grew up in Babylon with the gym and this class. The opportunity to do it with my team was a great experience geared toward our specific movements.”
We were so excited to have the team here at Fitness Incentive to do PowerX! We wish them all the best this season and hope to see them again soon.
