Working with Kim Spinella has been nothing less than awesome! She set clear goals and has been consistent and coachable. She has achieved priceless results as she continues on her path to a strong, healthy body with a mindset to match. As her coach, my focus has been on basic bodybuilding movements (my definition: bodybuilding = weight training with a purpose and passion. Each repetition and set is performed with intention, deep breathing, and total control. Bodybuilding, combined with a positive mental attitude (PMA), mindfulness, and understanding of the macronutrient timing will enable you will lose body fat – not just lose weight – as you build and retain lean muscle. I love to educate people, like Kim, who are willing to make changes and learn, without making excuses. I hold her accountable, she stays on course, and we’ve both witnessed her body change week by week.
The Plan
Part of our plan was to make sure she was able to still enjoy an occasional cocktail and foods that might not be considered “health foods,” while still getting leaner every week. There is a strategic approach to this, and, when understood, it’s not only a lot of fun, it can fire up your metabolism.
It’s Not about Deprivation
Most people don’t understand the difference between weight loss and fat loss. Often times they fade off because they are on a diet of deprivation that’s just not sustainable. Or they simply do too much cardio. But when you learn to master the basic weight training movements and dietary macronutrients, you get your metabolism to work for you and not against you. When I help clients to understand and apply the proper dietary macros, combined with the basic movements, life-changing results happen! The fact is, most people just don’t know what they just don’t know. Then that’s where I come in. I coach people from my past mistakes and from what experience has shown me works. Now, as I hit 40 years old this year, with 16 years of professional training under my belt, I have learned (the hard way!) a safe and effective method of training. And it’s my passion to teach people how to improve their overall health from every aspect. Mindful, results-driven training is my approach because only see the results you desire will you continue to stay motivated.

I joined Fitness Incentive in January 2019. I was intimated going into a gym and using the different equipment. I signed up for some personal training with TJ Lynch. We met to set up some goals with the understanding that I still wanted to have a social life. In the last 7 months, I have learned the value of food by counting macros and eating properly to fuel my body.
