A Busy, Busy Fall!
New Faces, New Classes, New Contest…
If it weren’t for what follows it, I would love fall even more than I do. The air is crisp, the weather often brilliant, and the foliage bliss-inducing. So I’ll try to forget for now that winter isn’t far off and enjoy the moment, especially since I know it will be fleeting.
At the gym, the fall is a time when we rev things back up into a higher gear, and this year is no exception. There’s a ton going on, much of it falling into the “must experience” category. Here’s a sample…
Fantastic Fall Contest
The annual Spring Fantastic Four has been going on every year since 2009, and it’s fair to say it’s one of the most anticipated events of the year. This year, we got several requests from members and trainers alike to hold a fall version of the contest. So we obliged. The Fantastic Fall Contest will be our first autumnal installation of the contest since 2009. It will follow the format of the past spring with one notable exception: the fall contest will run for 8 weeks, instead of 10, so that it ends before Thanksgiving. It will also cost less – $600 for members $700 for non-members (which includes a two-month membership). The rest is the same, using the InBody body composition scanner to measure your starting and ending body composition, and training twice a week in a group of four with a personal trainer. The spring edition had some of the best results we have ever seen, and we’re expecting more of the same this fall. You can read more about the fall challenge by clicking here.Fantastic Four
The sign-ups are already underway and wrap up on September 27th. If you have a trainer or a team, great; come and sign up! If not, don’t worry – we will help you find one! Either way, don’t miss this!
Liz Keller
Meet Liz, The New Face of Eat Smart
As you may already know, Rachel Ezelius who managed Eat Smart at FI, departed this past August, relocating with her family to upstate NY. Rachel did a fantastic job running the Eat Smart program at Fitness Incentive, and we knew that she would be hard to replace. Luckily for us – and you – we were able to find an outstanding candidate: Liz Keller, a nutritionist with extensive background working in the fitness industry. (See the cover of this issue, as well as an interview with her here) Liz has jumped into the Eat Smart role with great enthusiasm, and we’re excited to have her on board. We’re confident that she will put her own stamp on the program, taking it in some new directions while carrying it to even greater heights.
With the holidays right around the corner, it’s a perfect time to take control of your diet and learn to Eat Smart. If you’d like to speak with Liz, she is offering free consultations. She can be reached by email at eatsmart@fitnessincentive.com.
Spa-tober is Coming!
October is coming, and so is Spa-tober! This year’s event runs from October 14 – 26. As always, there will be tremendous savings on your favorite spa and salon services. As always, it will book up very quickly, so if you’re interested, book your appointments early. You can learn more about it by clicking here.
Annual Thanksgiving Charity Event
Fitness Incentive has run a workout-for-charity event on Thanksgiving for the past 19 years. Thanks to your generosity, we have been able to raise more than $40,000 in that time, and have donated 100% of it to several worthy organizations, which we rotate every year. This year’s event will be, as always, on Thanksgiving Day, November 28th, from 8am – 11am. All proceeds will go to benefit the Alzheimer’s Disease Resource Center (ADRC). The recommended donation for participants is $20, but you are, of course, welcome to give more. Note that other than the Workout for Charity, the gym is closed on Thanksgiving.
All Things Fitness…
Fall Class Schedule
The Fall class schedule slipped quietly into place on September 16th. You can see it on our mobile app under “Find a Class,” or right here on our website: https://www.fitnessincentive.com/class-schedule/
Reboot, Revitalize and Restore Your Body
We’re very fortunate to have an outstanding acupuncturist like Maria Hogan at Incentives Organic Spa & Salon, and excited for her to be offering an innovative new approach to acupuncture: Group Acupuncture! Group Acupuncture will be coming to Fitness Incentive starting Monday, October 7th and the first Monday every month thereafter at 11 am. The cost is just $25 for members, $35 for non-members. This new approach to acupuncture in a relaxing group setting will help boost your immune function, lower stress levels, and regulate hormones. All you have to bring is a yoga mat. Don’t miss it!
Pop Up Classes
Pop-ups are the new sensation (see articles here, here, and here!). As the name implies, they just, well, pop-up. Well sort of. We do give you a little advance warning. There are a few coming this fall, including Muscle Mayhem, a one-hour class with FI Trainer Couple Erik & Danielle. Saturday, September 28th, 10 am under the Carport.
And there’s a Glute Lab Master Class with Kellie and Eileen, Saturday, October 5th at 7:30 am. And then there’s Health & Healing Flow, a unique class combining Yoga and Axil MyoSoothe™ CBD, with Monica Sacco and Jacqui Jacinth, on October 4th at 6:00pm.
More to come! Stay tuned!
There’s Still Time…
